A Letter to my Younger Self

Hey Me,
You have some rough days ahead. I know. I know you are thinking that it doesn’t get worse than being a teenager. You’ll grow up. You’ll move out. *Eventually* You’ll raise a son. Lose a daughter. You’ll experience love. Hurt. And some Heartbreak.

It will get better. You’ll make awesome friends. You will meet the love of your life. You’ll think you have meet him a couple times, but don’t settle. I promise he’s out there, and he’s pretty great.

Let me tell you about your son. Hero. He’s about the most awesome kid. Ever. He’s your reason for getting up in the morning. Literally, you know… school. But seriously, he is a breath of fresh air.

Now let me tell you about your daughter. Scarlett. She was, in a word, beautiful. Even though we only got to keep her 4 days, you’ll remember her forever. She was your brown eyed girl. She had beautiful plump lips and an adorable little nose. She was perfect. She’s a hero too. She was able to donate her kidney’s and she saved a woman from end stage kidney failure.

I know you better than anyone, so I know how much you hate being told how strong you are. You are. You can handle what is thrown your way. You will come out even stronger. Not broken.
