Silly Superstitions

When I first thought about this blog post, I didn’t think I would have much to write about. In generally, I didn’t think I had many superstitions.

Here are a few that I thought of on the fly:

Pink Swearing- That’s a promise you just don’t break.

11:11 & 12:27 times on the clock- 11:11 is the common wish making time, but thanks to my sister, Beth, whenever I see my birthday (12:27) on the clock I assume I’ll have good luck for the rest of the day. Think about it. Two chances per day to ensure a good day… not many other superstitions give you those kind of odds!

Stepping on cracks- I love my momma.

Full moons- It brings out the crazy in people. If you have ever worked in retail then you know what’s I’m talking about.

Knocking on wood- Don’t know why it works, but I don’t want to test it. I always knock on wood. *knock *knock

Someone saying its a “slow” day at work- really?! Why!? Why couldn’t you just knock? This is a sure fire way to guarantee a hectic day for the rest of your shift. Thanks asshole.

What are you superstitious about? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Book Worm

So, I am super excited about today’s post. I can’t narrow it down to just one book… so I won’t.

Let’s see. Here are a few of my favorites.

Fifty Shades Trilogy– Don’t judge me you know you read it. It was poorly written, but I still couldn’t put it down.
Gone Girl– Prepare for a surprise ending. I won’t spoil it for you, but the movie will.
Harry Potter (Books 1-7)– No list is complete without these somewhere in the mix.
The Hunger Games Trilogy– An interesting tale of a too powerful government.

And last but not least. The Princess Bride: S. Morgenstern’s Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure. It is my all time favorite movie and probable also my favorite book. If you haven’t read it or at least seen the movie, please please please do so.

Currently I am reading The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. It’s pretty good. I am only a little short of a 1/4 of the way into the book, but after coming off a high of reading a suspense like Gone Girl it makes it a little hard to be motivated to read it. I’m still waiting for the hook.

Tell me about your favorite books. I am always looking for new favorites!

Favorite Photo Editing Apps

Since I am new to blogging, I don’t really know what my favorite photo editing apps are for that. I can tell you however what apps I use for my personal pictures.

From reading a couple other blog post today I found a new app that I really like that I can use on my phone. I will show you a before and after photo from this app. It is called Afterlight. I used it to edit a picture I took about a week ago of Hero. I asked him to give me awesome and threw up gang signs… I’m not really sure where he got that from. Neither me or Eric are gangsta.

On my computer, I use a paid app that is similar to photoshop. It is called Pixelmator. Its is about $30 but I think it is a little easier to use than photoshop and it doesn’t have all the extra features that I don’t use.

Another app that a friend of mine introduced to me is called FaceTune. It is more for pictures of people. With it you can whiten teeth, fix blemishes, and smooth skin. It’s pretty good and if you do it right it looks pretty natural.

Finally my last app that I like to use makes collages. It is called Pic Jointer. It has all sorts of different layouts for any possible arrangement or number of photos you’d want.
